shifting-gears-300x225The end of each year tends to leave us coasting in neutral fast approaching the beginning of a tall hill. I’m writing this article to help you the reader, as well as myself, kick it into gear and begin the New Year with some momentum. 2017 is here and it is time to rip the Band-Aid off and overcome the fear of our own self-doubts so we can answer the question of “am I ready to take on XYZ?”

The short answer. YES!

Stop imposing self-made hurdles of fear and doubt in front of your goals/ambitions/interests. No one is denying you of the opportunity to start your goal at this very moment. A habit of a successful person is a simple one; he/she shows up and produces. They realize that there is no truly perfect time to begin. If you are contemplating beginning something and procrastinating with endless hours of learning, like so many of us do in effort to achieve planned perfection beforehand, you are doing nothing more than creating untested thoughts in a real world of actions. You’re also continuing to delay you’re entrance to the party of possible success and fulfillment.  The ideas and the knowledge you have right now is enough to begin your journey. You’re bound to feel uncertain, unprepared, and unqualified and even scared at times. These thoughts will continue to arise should you further pursue your ambitions. These feeling are merely a side effect of doing something challenging, exciting, and confusing all at the same time. Embrace those feelings of being alive and actually caring about what you are doing. Take a chance, even if you fail or realize what you started is not for you, there is always something of value out of action. Don’t let this be another year of “What if’s” and self-doubts.
